Kashmir unrest : Restrictions relaxed for four hours in Handwara, bunkers removed

Srinagar, Apr 19 (IBNS) Prohibitory orders were relaxed in violence-hit Handwara town for four hours as three security force bunkers were removed from Handwara town on Tuesday morning, reports said.

Restrictions, however, reamined in force in Kupwara and Trehgam towns of north Kashmir.

Reports said restrictions in Handwara, the secene of prolonged ;unrest and security force firing, were relaxed from 8 am to 12 noon following improvement in the situation.

Altogether five people, including a woman and two teenagers were killed in separate incidents of army firing and police action in Handwara and Kupwara following mob violence that erupted over the allegation of molestation of a school girl.It was alleged that an army jawan had tried to molest the girl. The army, however, denied the allegation.
