Kashmir : Civilian killed as protesters clash with security forces in Pulwama

Srinagar, June 22 (IBNS) : One civilian was killed as a mob clashed with security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday , while demonstrating against the killing of three local Lasher-e-Taiba (LeT) militants in an encounter the previous night, media reports said.

According to reports, clashes broke out between locals and security forces in parts of Pulwama shortly after the Kakapora encounter ended.

The deceased was declared brought dead at a local hospital.

His identity is yet to be ascertained.

The cause of his death was not immediately known.

Media reports said the police refused to divulge details of the death.

The authorities have imposed restrictions in parts of Pulwama. Most schools and colleges have been closed and Internet service suspended.

Train ervices in the valley also  remains suspended.
