Karnataka finally agrees to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu
New Delhi, Oct 4 (IBNS) : After being rebuked and warned by the Supreme Court against the impending "wrath of law", Karnataka on Tuesday said that it will follow orders to release water from the Cauvery to neighbouring Tamil Nadu, according to reports.
Karnataka had been refusing to comply with repeated instructions by the top court to share 6,000 cusecs of water for six consecutive days.
On Monday night, the Government decided to share water as it "could afford" to do so because of the recent rains.
