J&K: Pak violates ceasefire again, one BSF jawan killed
Katua, Jan 5 (IBNS): In a fresh ceasefire violation, Pakistani forces on Monday fired at Indian posts along the International Border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, killing one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan.
The Pakistani side yet again restored to heavy firing using 80-mm motar shells.
This is the sixth ceasefire violation since last Tuesday.
Reacting to the recent border attacks, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh took a firm stand against terrorism and asked the security forces not to compromise, reports said.
Singh on Monday held a high level meeting with top intelligence officials in the national capital.
On Saturday, Singh, however, said India wants to have good relationship with Pakistan.
Speaking to media, Singh said: "Pakistan is our neighbouring nation. We want good relations with all our neighbours."
Singh said Pakistan should also take steps to avoid ceasefire violations.
Earlier, continuous ceasefire violations along the border area and security outposts in Jammu and Kashmir killed two Army jawans on Saturday along with a woman while injuring 11 after the Pakistani side targetted some villages here.
Residents of villages along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in the state have been forced to move to camps following heavy shelling of forward Indian positions and civilian areas.
