J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti pays homage to father and former CM on his first death anniversary

Srinagar, Jan 7 (IBNS): Chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, on Saturday, visited her father and former state chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s grave to offer prayers on his first death anniversary, according to media reports.

Meanwhile, The Hindu, on Friday reported that the late chief minister is likely to be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, the highest category of Padma or civilian honours given away on Republic Day.

The late CM had struck an alliance with the BJP to form a government in the state after the 2015 elections yielded a fractured mandate and his daughter continued with the alliance, media reported.

Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was  twice chief minister of J&K, the first time between 2002 and 2005 and the second time between March 2015 and January 2016.
