Jammu gets IIM, Omar lashes out at Mehbooba, Modi

Srinagar, Oct 13 (IBNS): Accusing the state and central governments of indulging in 'partisan politics', former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah slammed both Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Abdullah, visibly upset over the centre's nod to establish an IIM in Jammu, tweeted, "Jammu gets the IIT & gets the IIM also. Where have all those voices that called for balanced regional development in J&K disappeared."

The former CM also relentlessly attacked the incumbent Chief Minister.

He accused Mehbooba Mufti of selling her soul to remain in power.

"I realise that @MehboobaMufti has had to sell out her political agenda to remain in power but I didn't realise she's sold her soul also!!!" Abdullah's tweet read.

"When Kashmir was awarded an AIIMS Jammu agitated, successfully, for its right to be granted one as well. Why this partisanship now?" he asked.

"And don't tell me an "out campus" is good enough because if it was the IIM would have been placed in Kashmir with the out campus in Jammu," he added.

Abdullah, also a sharp critic of Prime Minister Modi and his affiliated party the BJP, took a jab at the BJP-PDP alliance in the Valley.

Accusing the alliance as a main reason for his state's restive condition, he tweeted, "This is just blatant partisan politics of the kind we have come to expect from the BJPDP. No wonder so much of the state is restive today."
