Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti meets PM

New Delhi, Nov 28 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Monday and discussed with him the overall situation in the state, said an government spokesman.

The Chief Minister highlighted the need for reaching out to the people of the state and taking various tangible initiatives in this regard.

She said people of Jammu & Kashmir have suffered immensely during the immediate past, particularly during the past few months, and requested for taking measures for reaching out to them and extending all possible support to the State.

"Every segment of the society in the State has suffered immensely during the past few months because of the turmoil,” she told the Prime Minister.

Mehbooba also underlined the urgency of taking Jammu & Kashmir specific Confidence Building Measures to address the concerns of the people of the state.

The Prime Minister was supportive of the ideas of the Chief Minister and assured her all support from the Central Government, said the spokesman.
