Ishrat encounter: CBI can't find "proof" against Amit Shah

| | May 07, 2014, at 08:08 pm
Ahmedabad, May 7 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday told a special CBI court that they have not found sufficient evidence against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah in connection with the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case.

Nineteen-year-old Ishrat was gunned down by the Gujarat Police along with Javed Ghulam Sheikh alias Pranesh Kumar Pillai, Amjad Ali alias Rajkumar Akbar Ali Rana and Jisan Johar Abdul Gani in Ahmedabad on June 15, 2004.

The police alleged that Ishrat and three others were Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants who conspired to assassinate Modi.
