New Delhi, July 18 (IBNS): Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Narendra Singh Tomar got additional charges of information and broadcasting and urban development ministries respectively on Monday, as both the posts fell vacant following Venkaiah Naidu's resignation, media reports said.

Naidu, a top-rung BJP leader, resigned on Monday late evening after he was chosen vice presidential candidate.

Apart from the new I&B ministry, Irani is already in charge of the textile department.
