Indian Navy Chief visits Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang

Guwahati, Oct 24 (IBNS) : Chief of Indian Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba on Wednesday visited the forward areas of Tawang Sector on Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Admiral, while on a short tour was updated on the security situation along Northern Boarders in the areas of Tawang Garrison in presence of Maj Gen Rajesh Kumar Jha, General Officer Commanding, Ball of Fire Division.

Admiral Lanba, who is also the chairman, chief of Staff Committee was accompained by Reena Lanba for the two day tour.

During his interaction with troops, he lauded their efforts towards ensuring Peace & Tranquility along Line of Actual Control, besides enhancing image of the Armed Forces amongst local populace by means of required Samaritan activities.

He also paid homage to the martyrs of 1962 Operation at Tawang War Memorial, in remembering the superme sacrifice of 2420 Martyrs of the war in the sector.

The chief reviewed and appreciated the operational readiness of Indian Armed Forces and exhorted the formation to maintain required operational readiness for any unforeseen contingencies along Northern borders.
