If Swamy knows Sunanda's murderer then he must reveal: Tharoor
New Delhi, Jan 13 (IBNS): After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday alleged that Shashi Tharoor should reveal the identity of her wife Sunanda Pushkar's 'killer', the Congress MP has now said that if the former knows about the murderer he should go to the police.
Responding to the allegations by Swamy, Tharoor told mediapersons at the Delhi airport that, "If Subramanian Swamy knows the murderer then let him tell the police."
Swamy told CNN-IBN that he had never stated that he knew who the murderer was.
He clarified that he had just said that Tharoor knew who Pushkar's murderer was.
Swamy said Tharoor should be interrogated by the police in the case.
"He should be questioned and if he was to lie to the police then he should be arrested. This action should be taken soon as an FIR has already been registered for murder," Swamy said.
Swamy has also accused Tharoor of trying to cover up his wife's murder as a natural death.
The BJP leader claimed that Pushkar was put to death as she had wanted to tell the truth about the dubious dealings in the IPL.
Meanwhile, Tharoor is likely to be questioned soon by the Delhi police in connection with his wife’s death case.
Tharoor arrived in Delhi on Sunday after spending a few days at an ayurvedic resort in Thrissur, Kerala.
The Delhi police had filed a murder case Last week alleging that Pushkar was poisoned, either orally or by injection.
Sunanda Pushkar, 52, was found dead in her room at a luxury hotel in Delhi on January 17 last year - days after a public spat on social media with a Pakistani journalist she alleged had an affair with her husband.
Reports said that the police would quiz Tharoor but they were yet to decide when.
