Harsimrat Kaur Badal appeals to Food Processing Companies to contribute to Kerala cause

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IBNS): Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday appealed to all food processing industries across the country to contribute generously to the Kerala cause. 

The appeal by the Union Minister has come in the backdrop of severe floods that have ravaged the state of Kerala and left thousands homeless.

Badal had also earlier requested companies to come forward in response to which ITC and Britannia have delivered 3 lakh packets of biscuits to State Government of Kerala on Saturday.

The packets were delivered to officials at Trivandrum, Kochi and Malapuram for further distribution to the affected people of the state.

The companies that want to contribute may contact the following Officials from Ministry of Food Processing Industries as soon as possible

At least 324 people died due to the flood situation and about 6,61,887 people have been shifted to 3,466 relief camps.
