Hardcore Bodo militant nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, Nov 23 (IBNS): Security forces on Wednesday apprehended a hardcore Bodo militant from Assam's Chirang district.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, police and army launched operation at Runikhata area in the BTAD district and nabbed the militant belonging to NDFB(S).

The nabbed militant was identified as Gobin Islari and recovered a 7.62mm pistol, ammunition in possession from him.

In past two years following the adivasi massacre in the BTAD area in 2014, security forces had nabbed over 100 NDFB(S) cadres from different areas of Lower Assam.

On the other hand, police had recovered one AK-56 and an AK-81 rifle from Jagerachuba area near Barama in Baska district on Wednesday.
