Gujarat CM meets PM Modi over flood situation in the state

New Delhi, Jul 25 (IBNS): Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House on Tuesday, and apprised him of the situation arising out of incessant rain and flood in parts of the state.

"Called on PM Shri @narendramodi. He was concerned about the situation in flood affected areas & assured all possible assistance from center," tweeted th Gujarat CM.

PM then decided to undertake an aerial survey of flood affected areas of North Gujarat this afternoon, after the swearing-in ceremony for the new President, the Prime Minister's Office said in a release.

Several states in India are in the grip of floods resulting from the incessant rainfall over the past few days and the rivers in spate.

According to media reports, while the situation in Assam and the north eastern part of the company is improving gradually, states such as Gujarat and Rajasthan have been forced to declare high alerts. In West Bengal, lowlands in Birbhum, Purulia, West Medinipore and Hooghly districts are also in the grip of floods.
