Government is ready to discuss any issue in parliament: PM Modi

New Delhi, July 18 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the government is ready to discuss any issue during the parliament's monsoon session, which began on Wednesday.

Addressing media before entering the parliament, Modi said: "It is important to discuss various issues in the parliament for the benefits of the country.

"I am hopeful that all political parties will utilise the time in the parliament to help the progress of several works for the country. The government is ready to discuss any issue in the parliament."

A day ago he tweeted after meeting NDA allies: "Wonderful interaction with our valued NDA allies. The NDA family is united in our pursuit of development and good governance for 125 crore Indians."

The Congress and the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) are set to move a no-confidence motion against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government in the Lok Sabha (lower house).

The BJP, which has the majority in the house along with its allies, said it is ready for the motion.

With 314 members in the lower house of Parliament, the no-trust motion is not a threat to the BJP-led NDA government since the number is more than the half-way mark (272).

Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP is set to bring the no-confidence motion, demanding a special status for Andhra Pradesh.
