Gadkari defamation: Kejriwal won't withdraw statement
New Delhi, June 6 (IBNS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday told the court that he will not withdraw the statement he made against Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
Both Kejriwal and Gadkari appeared in the court on Friday in connection with a defamation case filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader against the former Delhi Chief Minister.
The court asked both the leaders to bury the hatchet and close the case. But Kejriwal said he won't withdraw his statement.
Gadkari had filed a defamation case before metropolitan magistrate in Delhi in mid-February. He had said that Kejriwal tarnished his image by calling him corrupt.
Gadkari had slapped a legal notice on Kejriwal for including his name in the latter's "India's Most Corrupt Politicians" list.
Kejriwal was remanded to judicial custody in May.
