G20 Presidency reflects India’s global stature: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar

Jabalpur/UNI: Emphasising the fact that India is transforming and has assumed a rather crucial place in the world, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar underlined on Wednesday that “our economic prowess surpasses that of those who once ruled over us” and assumption of the G20 Presidency is a milestone achievement indeed.

Addressing an immense gathering, on the occasion of the 9th International Yoga Day, at Garrison Ground – in the largest city of Mahakoshal region – the visiting dignitary averred, “Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we should resolve to dedicate ourselves to Yoga, which is for entire humanity and has assumed economic dimensions as numerous individuals are making it a profession and a career.

"We have Yoga ambassadors as India is providing skilled teachers to every other part of the globe. Yoga is dotting each nook and cranny of India and reflected vibrantly overseas.”

Commencing his 17-minute-long speech by bowing to Rani Durgavati, the Vice President pointed out that a direct digital transfer record was scripted in 2022 as Indians have the speciality of absorbing skill rapidly.

“This city is nothing short of a ‘sanskardhani’. Our cultural thought Vasudhaiva kutumbakam is reflected on this day. Indian culture reveals tremendous depth. One Earth, one family, one future!

"Our Prime Minister’s placing Yoga on the world table was the maiden endeavour of its kind at the UN. The idea behind selecting June 21 is that it is the longest day. India’s farsightedness was evidenced by the fact that 193 countries supported us. The event later today at the UN is historic and I urge all Indians to benefit from the same.

I have scant doubt that everyone will agree that Yoga translates as complete health assurance with zero insurance premium. Youngsters are the warriors of 2047; bear this National Flag so that when India celebrates a centenary of Independence, we are at the apex of the world – a vishwaguru; in every circumstance keep the country foremost,” Dhankhar underlined.

The Prime Minister’s video message was played on the occasion.

Earlier delivering the welcome address; Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal said, “The IYD has become a mass movement and members of 180 countries shall participate on this day at UN Headquarters.”

Governor Mangubhai Patel mentioned the fact that Lord Krishna Himself emphasised the importance of Yoga, in The Bhagavad-Gita.

In the words of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr Modi has played a stellar role in globalising Yoga.
