Former Goa CM Ravi Naik tests positive for Coronavirus

Panaji/UNI: Former Goa Chief Minister and Congress MLA Ravi Naik on Friday tested positive for Covid-19.

He is fifth MLA and second former Chief Minister to have tested positive for the contagion.

Already, former Chief Minister and currently National Congress Party (NCP) MLA Churchill Alemao and his wife, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar, former Deputy Chief Minister and currently Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) MLA Sudin Dhavalikar have tested positive for Covid-19.

Last month, another BJP MLA Clafasio Dias had tested positive for Covid-19. He was admitted to a hospital and discharged on Aug 9, 2020, after he tested negative.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Defence Shripad Naik also have tested positive for Covid-19. He is currently admitted to a private hospital.
