Five soldiers trapped after avalanche hits army patrol in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 28 (IBNS) : Five soldiers were buried under snow after an avalanche hit an army patrol on Friday in the Machil sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.reports said.

The incident comes two days after 15 army men, including a major, were killed after two avalanches hit a military post and a patrol along the Line of Control in Kashmir's Gurej sector.

A massive avalanche on Wednesday had buried a military post manned by 10 soldiers in the Gurez sector.

The bodies of three soldiers were later recovered.

Another avalanche had swept away an army patrol in the same area and the bodies of the missing army personnel were found on Friday.
