New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS) Delhi Police on Sunday arrested five people in connection with the assault of an African national and have urged the foreigners to not drink and party in public as it disturbs the local residents, reports said.

The arrested people were not charged under racial crimes, as mentioned by the attacker.

Race crime in Delhi is on the rise, according to media reports with the most serious incident being the lynching of a Congolese man  a week ago.

Other instances have shown various crimes taking place against the dark skinned.

The spate of violence has also left the several African envoys, stationed in India, fuming.

Racial crimes were also reported from Bangalore, where a Nigerian girl was attacked by her Indian neighbours recently following a car parking issue.

The same city had witnessed the molestation of a Sudenese student, who was beaten, dragged out of her car and stripped in public by an angry mob avenging the death of an elderly lady, who was knocked down by an African national. .
