Delhi government announces Rs.1 crore financial assistance for Mukesh Kumar

New Delhi, Sept 27 (IBNS) The Delhi government on Tuesday announced to give Rs 1 crore to the family of a school teacher who was stabbed to death by two class 12 students for complaint against them.

The teacher was identified as  Mukesh Kumar.

The government has condemned the incident.

"There can be no compensation for the family's agony. The government is announcing to give Rs. 1 crore to the family of the teacher as immediate financial assistance," Delhi  Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted.

He said, " Our government respects teachers and it  believes that the contribution of a teacher is similar to a soldier who is serving at the border."

The alleged incident took place on Monday at Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Nangloi.

While two boys have been detained by the police, there were six students present at the crime scene.

The victim has been identified as Mukesh Kumar, a 45-year old Hindi teacher.

A case has been registered by the police.
