Delhi Chikungunya: Toll touches 10

New Delhi, Sept 14 (IBNS): The death toll in the chikungunya outbreak in Delhi has reached 10 with five more people breathing their last in the national capital, media reports said on Wednesday.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain visited hospitals to check the situation in the institutes.

"Visited DDU hospital, good arrangements for treatment of Dengue & Chikangunia.100 beds avalable.No need to panic," the Minister tweeted.

Union Minister of Health JP Nadda assured people of Dlhi that there was n reason to panic over the situation.

"Reviewed #dengue & #chikungunya situation in Delhi with Ministry officials & reps of Central hospitals," he said.

The Minister tweeted: "While there is no cause to panic, assured all support of Central Govt in addressing upsurge in #dengue & #chikungunya cases."

According to statistics,  so far, 1,057 cases of chikungunya have been reported.
