Currency ban: Nitish Kumar lauds Modi

Patna, Nov 9 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Bihar chief minister NItish Kumar on Wednesday came out in strong support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after he abolished Rs 1000 and Rs 500 Indian currency notes under part of the move aimed at “curbing corruption, black money, money laundering, and financing of terrorists”.

“I appreciate the initiate taken by the Prime Minister for scrapping the existing currency notes in the denomination of Rs 1000 and Rs 500,” said Kumar.

He said initially the people would face some problem but ultimately this would be helpful for Indian economy.

Kumar is known as an arch rival of Modi and it was over the issue that he had broken the decades-old alliance with the BJP.

Earlier, Kumar had also backed the surgical strike conducted by the Modi government although the RJD, his own alliance partner, had flayed it.
