Lucknow, Apr 22 (IBNS) : Immediately after taking charge, new Uttar Pradesh police chief Sulkhan Singh on Saturday vowed to crush criminal activities and sent out a stern warning to cow vigilantes, saying action will be taken against them, media reports said.

Singh, who replaces Javeed Ahmed, said he had strict orders from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to crack down on anybody indulging in criminal activities.

"We have been given orders by the Chief Minister not to spare anyone irrespective of any party " he told a press conference.

"Action will be taken on anyone indulging in vigilantism in the name of gau raksha or anything else, no one has the right to intervene,” Singh said.

He asked  people to tip them off if they spot any such activity.

After Yogi Adityanath came to power a month ago, he promised to crack down on criminals and make the state free from criminal activities.
