CPI-M leader Khagen Das passes away, party mourns

Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS): CPI-M leader Khagen Das passed away in Kolkata on Sunday.

The party condoled his death.

CPI-M's official Twitter page read: "CPIM expresses its shock & grief at the sudden demise of Khagen Das, CC member, who passed away in the early hours this morning in Kolkata. He was in the city to attend the CC meeting. He was the convenor of the Tripura Left Front & former MP. Red Salute to Comrade Khagen Das!."

CPI-M leader MD Salim tweeted and said Das will always remain in the hearts of his followers.

"Red Salute to Comrade Khagen Das. Ex MP( was my colleague in both RajyaSabha & LokSabha) & as member of Central Committee @cpimspeak. A mass leader also served as Revenue minister in Tripura. Will always remain in our hearts," he tweeted.
