New Delhi, May 11 (IBNS) Two class XI students were ragged by their seniors at DPS Noida hostel on Monday night, where they were allegedly beaten with rods, reports said.

An FIR has been filed against 18 students for their alleged involvement.

The victims, who were identified as Yash Pratap Singh (15) and Dhruv Aggarwal (16), were admitted to a hospital where they received treatments.

Singh was quoted by The Times of India as saying, "A group of 12-15 students of class XII came and started passing offensive and derogatory remarks. We decided to leave the hall but one of them came in front of us. He slapped me when I protested. The other senior students joined him and all started thrashing me with iron rods and boots."

ASP of Noida, Gaurav Grover said that the FIR was registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323 and 506 of IPC.

He also said that investigation is underway and as all the offenders are minors, the district child welfare committee will interrogate them.
