Chhattisgarh: One Maoist killed in encounter in Sukma

Sukma/UNI: A Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday, police said.

Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said that the personnel of the District Reserve Police and Cobra Battalion were out on search in the morning, when they reached near Tetamadgu, the ambushed Naxalites started firing on the police force.

The soldiers gave a befitting reply to the Naxalites. In the encounter, one Maoist was gunned down.

Weapons and a huge cache of Naxal material have been recovered from the spot, Chavan said. The search operation is still going on.
