Jammu, mar 27 (INS): Legislators were seen manhandling, shoving and even hitting each other as complete chaos erupted in the state Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday leaving a National Conference (NC) member injured in a scuffle with marshalls.

This happened when the entire opposition accused Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led government of lying before the House and the general public on the issue of transfer of the hydel power projects with NHPC to the state.

During scuffle, Abdul Majid Bhat, MLA Homshalibugh, received minor injuries on his arm during the scuffle, who was immediately provided medical aid.

The house was adjourned after former chief minister Omar Abdullah led the protesting members who came in the well.

“Your CMP (Common Minimum Programme) says return of power projects; Governor’s address also says the same. This deceit won’t do,” Abdullah asked the BJP-PDP coalition government.

Congress legislators also joined the NC in the protest, following which Speaker Kavinder Gupta adjourned the house.

Meanwhile, the Upper House was also adjourned two times as Opposition continued its protests over New Delhi’s refusal to transfer power projects to the state.
