Blast at firecracker factory leaves seven killed

Lucknow, Oct 26 (IBNS): An explosion rocked a workshop of a firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun area on Friday which left at least seven people killed on Friday, media reports said.

“The blast occurred in a room that was used to store crackers at around 4:30 pm. We have started the rescue work,” Superintendent of Police of Badaun Ashok Kumar told Hindustan Times.

Rescue teams pulled out seven bodies from the site of the blast.

The injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.

The building, in which the factory is located, has been charred, reports said.
