BJP with or without Modi will dominate Indian politics for next many decades: Prashant Kishor

New Delhi/IBNS: In an almost prophesy ahead of crucial assembly elections in five states, former political strategist Prashant Kishor has claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with or without its poster boy Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will continue to dominate Indian politics for the next many decades.

Addressing an event, Kishor, who in 2021 helped the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to crush BJP in West Bengal polls, said, "BJP is going to be the centre of Indian polity irrespective of their win or loss like the Congress remained in the first 40 years (of independence). BJP is going nowhere. Once a party secures 30 percent of votes, it is not going in a hurry."

"Do not get into this trap that people are getting angry and they will throw away Modi. Maybe they will throw away Modi but BJP is not going anywhere. They are going to be here. You'll have to fight it out for the next many decades," added Kishor, who had worked with Modi before the 2014 General Elections that changed the dynamics of Indian politics.

Kishor has also touched upon the "problem" of Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi implying the latter's thought on the BJP is incorrect.

"It's (BJP) not going in a hurry. That is where the problem lies with Rahul Gandhi probably. He thinks it's just a matter of time that people will throw him away. That's not happening," he added.

Over the last seven years since the 2014 General Elections, Kishor has assisted various anti-BJP political parties including the Congress in different elections.

Even after helping Mamata Banerjee to become the West Bengal Chief Minister for the third consecutive term comprehensively in 2021, Kishor had warned all political parties that 2024 Lok Sabha polls will be a different ball game.

Even after losing three state elections to Congress in Dec 2018, the BJP, riding on Modi's charisma, stormed back to power in the country winning over 300 seats in the Lok Sabha polls in the summer of 2019.
