BJP tried horse-trading in Rajasthan: Ashok Gehlot after Congress sacks Sachin Pilot

| @indiablooms | Jul 14, 2020, at 08:59 pm

Jaipur/IBNS: Instead of acknowledging a power-struggle within the Rajasthan Congress, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of horse-trading his MLAs after sacking his rebel deputy Sachin Pilot from the post.

Addressing the media, Gehlot said, "The BJP was conspiring to destabilise the Congress government in Rajasthan for the last six months. They were involved in the dirty politics which they did in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

"Some of our partymen were influenced by the BJP's conspiracy and went to Delhi."

Gehlot made the comment after the Congress in Rajasthan on Tuesday sacked Deputy Chief Minister and state unit chief Sachin Pilot from his positions after the rebel lawmaker skipped the meeting of party MLAs for the second time.

Two state ministers who had joined Pilot in skipping the meeting have also been dropped by the Congress.

"We have given him (Sachin Pilot) opportunities two times to meet us and sort out the problems. None of us are happy to sack them," added the CM.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has 75 seats in the assembly, is closely watching the political development.
