The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi polls which showed the saffron brigade pitching Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma to contest against former CM Arvind Kejriwal in the politically crucial New Delhi seat.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) named candidates for 29 out of the 70 seats of the New Delhi Assembly.

Former Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, who earlier left AAP to join the BJP, has been fielded from the Bijwasan seat.

In Kalkaji seat, a high-voltage poll war will be seen between Delhi CM Atishi and  Ramesh Bidhuri. The Congress fielded   Alka Lamba from the constituency.

The Aam Aadmi Party is eyeing its third term in Delhi after registering a thumping victory in the last two editions of the Assembly polls.

The AAP, however, failed to win a single seat in Delhi in the Lok Sabha polls.
