Bengal post-poll violence: CBI arrests two from Howrah's Domjur

Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested two persons from Domjur in Howrah district of West Bengal for their alleged involvement in a case related to violence against women that had been reported after the results of Bengal assembly polls were declared on May 2.

According to sources in the Central probe agency, 13 persons had been detained in the morning and after a marathon interrogation, two of them have been arrested while the remaining 11 have been directed to appear at the CBI office at Nizam Palace later.

After being directed by the Calcutta High Court, the CBI has taken over the investigation into the post-poll violence cases related to murder, rape and crime against women in Bengal.

CBI has already registered over 30 FIRs while its probe is currently underway.
