Avalanche hits vehicle in Kashmir, 6 feared dead

Srinagar, Jan 5 (IBNS): Rescue operation is underway to save at least six passengers and locate the vehicle that came under avalanche near Sadhna Top in Tanghdar area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Friday.

Police sources said that a red color passenger vehicle was buried under snow on Friday late afternoon.

“A police party rushed to spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals. So far, we have managed to locate a child who is stable but the rest of the six passengers are still missing. The vehicle is also missing,” said an official.
