Assam CM visits terror attack site in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, Aug 7 (IBNS) : Assam Cheif Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday visited the Aug 5 attack site in Kokrajhar district and said to take stern action against the culprits who killed 14 innocent civilians.

“It was an unfortunate incident. We will find out the culprits who involved in the brazen attack. We have taken initiative to intensify operation against militants in the state,” the Assam CM said.

Sonowal also met the family members of the deceased persons in the attack and said to arrange proper security.

“Our government is committed to protect life and properties of all people of the state,” Sonowal said

The Assam CM also discussed with top officials of police, army, para military forces at Kokrajhar circuit house in security issues.

The Assam CM had ordered the officials of Assam police, army, SSB, CRPF to launch massive operation against the militants across the state and along bordering areas with Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh.

“Our stand is zero tolerance to terror. We will not compromise with any groups in any situation,” the Assam CM said.

On the other hand, a legislature member group of Asom Gana Parishad led by former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta also visited the attack site.
