Assam: BDO arrested for funds misappropriation in Barak Valley

Guwahati, Oct 27 (IBNS): Police on Thursday arrested a Block Development Officer (BDO), Hailakandi for alleged misappropriation of funds in Barak Valley.

An official of Hailakandi district administration said that following the public complaints, police arrested Hailakandi BDO Moinul Haque Choudhury.

Hailakandi district Police produced the government official at the district session court.

Choudhury was picked up for interrogation for alleged misappropriation of funds and detained in the police station.

Hailakandi Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Cherge Surajit Choudhury said that a case was filed against the BDO (case no. 412/16) for alleged misappropriation of government funds.

The government official was booked under Sections 120B together with 409, 419, 468 and 420 of IPC.
