Arunachal Pradesh restricts civilian movement in Assam border

Guwahati, Dec 29 (IBNS) : Arunachal Pradesh government on Monday imposed restrictions on civilian movement along the inter- state border with Assam following the launch of counter insurgency operations carried out by the Army, paramilitary troops against NDFB (Sangbijit) militants who are responsible for the massacre of 81 people.

According to Arunachal Pradesh government statement, the Home minister of the state government Tanga Byaling has directed the principal home secretary to issue necessary directions to the district administration to restrict on civilian movement in the inter state border with Assam in view of counter insurgency operations launched by the security forces against militants along bordering areas and in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh

In the instructions issued by the stats government said that hunting in the jungles along the inter state bordering areas have been banned.

"All DCs and SPs have been asked not to allow mass gathering in public places to avoid any unfortunate mishap, " a top official of Arunachal Pradesh government said.

"All arms licence holders were directed not to carry weapons within or outside the state," the official said.

On other hand, security forces on Monday apprehended two linkman of NDFB(S) in Sonitpur district.

The nabbed linkman had identified as Suklai Basumutary and Arun Narzary.
