AP Governor given additional charge of Telangana

New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan was on Wednesday given the additional charge of the state of Telangana.

"The President of India has been pleased to appoint Shri E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Telangana, in addition to his own duties until a permanent arrangement is made. The above appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of his office," a communique from President's Secretariat said.

The newly-formed Telangana state will start functioning as a separate entity from June 2.

President Pranab Mukherjee on Mar 1 signed the Telangana Bill paving way for the formation of the 29th state of India.
