Another rhino poached in Kaziranga

Guwahati, Oct 21 (IBNS): Poachers have killed another one horned rhinoceros in Assam's Kaziranga National Park (KNP).

Forest guards of the national park have found the carcass of a male rhino inside the park on Friday during regular patrolling.

The poachers have managed to flee with its horn.

The preliminary investigation said that, the rhino killed in past 48 hours.

Poachers killed 15 one horned rhinos in the state in this year so far.

Meanwhile Assam forest minister visited the world heritage site and said that, it is an unfortunate incident.

“It is very unfortunate that we have lost another rhino,” the minister said.

The Assam forest minister further said that, the state forest department has taken adequate measures to protect wild animals including rhino in the state.
