Aligarh, Apr 12 (IBNS) : A housewife on Wednesday sat on a dharna outside her home in Aligarh after her husband gave triple talaq, media reports said.

The woman reportedly came to know fro her neighbours that her husband had given her triple talaq.

Married for more than five years, the woman had been living with her mother for the last one year as her husband refused to let her enter the home.

According to media reports, the woman's father has alleged that her in-laws were demanding money few years after the marriage.

Several petitions are pending with the Supreme Court seeking abrogation of triple talaq, a traditional Muslim way of getting divorce from one's wife by saying 'talaq' three times.

The Muslim Personal Law Board has recently said the system is in accordance with the Muslim law.
