Ahead of I-Day, security forces recover arms-ammu along Indo-Bhutan border

Guwahati, Aug 9 (IBNS): Ahead of the Independence Day celebration, security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam’s Baksa district along with Indo-Bhutan border on Wednesday morning.

Based on intelligence input, Baksa district police and 5th Gorkha Regiment jointly launched an operation at Uttarkuchi area under Baganpara police station and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition kept buried by suspected militants.

Security personnel recovered one AK-56 rifle with magazine, 10 rounds live ammunition.

In last week, security forces had recovered two AK series rifles near Musalpur area in the bordering district with Bhutan.
