Islamabad, Dec 8 (IBNS): Ahead of the formal talks to be held on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday met her Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad during a banquet hosted by the latter for all delegates' heads assembled for a conference on Afghanistan.
Swaraj arrived in Islamabad earlier in the day to attend the 5th Ministerial Conference on Heart of Asia Istanbul Process on Afghanistan.

"EAM @SushmaSwaraj welcomed by Pakistan's Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr Sartaj Aziz at dinner for HoA delegates," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Swaraj's maiden voyage to the neighboring nation is expected to see the two countries engage in developmental talks and comes right after both the Prime Minister's met at Russia and Paris earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have also expressed its pleasure at having Swaraj in their country.

Pakistan's External Minister Sartaj Aziz, reportedly said, "This is a good beginning, the deadlock that was present has to some extent been removed."
