Actress Gautami writes to PM about 'unanswered questions' on Jaya's death

New Delhi, Dec 9 (IBNS): South Indian actress Gautami Tadimalla has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi drawing his attention to lack of transparency related to J Jayalalithaa's treatment and death.

In her letter to PM Modi, she stated: "Her demise is all the more tragic and unsettling because of the circumstances over the past few months and the sheer volume of unanswered questions about our late Chief Minister's hospitalisation, treatment, reported recovery and very sudden passing."

The actress said she is writing the letter as an ordinary citizen.

Asking the reason for keeping everything under the wraps, Gautami wrote: "Why this secrecy and isolation of a beloved public leader and the head of the Tamil Nadu government? What/whose authority restricted access to the late Chief Minister?"

She also enquired about who took all decisions related to Jayalalithaa's health issues during her days of hospitalisation and on matters like who she will meet.

"Who were the concerned persons who were making the decisions about Selvi Dr. J Jayalalithaa ji's treatment and care when her health was apparently in such a delicate state? And who is responsible for these answers to the people? These and many other burning questions are being asked by the people of Tamil Nadu and I echo their voice in bringing them to your ears, sir," she said.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa , who was also a top heroine of Tamil film industry before she joined politics full time, was declared dead by the  Apollo  Hospital on Tuesday.
