Guwahati, Nov 22 (IBNS): Demanding for the sealing of the India-Bangladesh border and protest against the jihadi activities in Assam, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) took out a protest rally in Guwahati city on Saturday.

“There is no place for illegal Bangladeshis and other fundamentalists in Assam. We are against jihadis and demanded to the Union government and state government to seal the Indo-Bangladesh border immediately,” AASU advisor Dr Sammujal Bhattacharjee said.

“The Union and the state government should take probable measures to check the influx in the state,” Dr Bhattacharjee said.

He alleged that illegal Bangladeshis had encroached in Kaziranga National Park (KNP) and government lands in other parts of the state.

The “Satyagrah” rally commenced  from Latasil field in the city with a gathering of more than 20,000 people as they protest against the illegal Bangladeshis and jihadi activities in the state.
