3rd conference of VCs of Central Universities to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Feb 2 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee will host a conference of Vice Chancellors of Central Universities for which he is Visitor at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 4 and 5, the President's Secretariat said on Monday.

This is the third time such a conference is being convened by President Mukherjee.

The first conference was held on February 5, 2013 and second on February 6 and 7, 2014.

The President has also been convening regularly conferences of Directors of NITs, IITs, IISERs and IISC.

"The agenda for this year’s Vice Chancellors’ Conference includes action on previous recommendations; steps to create an eco-system for research and innovation with participation of industry and research institutions; capacity development of faculty, alumni participation, use of technology; deepening of engagement with community; creating international and national networks, adoption of choice based credit system etc," the President's Secretariat said in a statement.
