Google remembers George Boole on his 200th birthday, creates doodle

New York, Nov 2 (IBNS) Popular search engine Google on Monday decorated its homepage with a doodle celebrating 200th birthday of mathematician George Boole.

In yet another attractively created animated doodle, the doodle shows netizens  the logic gates that are used in computing and are derived from the Boolean functions.

The mathematician was born on Nov 2, 1815, in Lincoln, England.

He passed away on Dec 8, 1864, in County Cork in Ireland.

He worked in the fields of differential equations and algebraic logic, and is best known as the author of The Laws of Thought which contains Boolean algebra.
