Pakistan reports over 4000 cases for first time in eight months

Islamabad: Pakistan reported 4000 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, a figure registered for the first time in eight months.

According to media reports, the country is currently facing the third wave of COVID-19 virus.

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the country carried out 42,418 tests in the last 24 hours, out of which 4,368 returned positive. The new cases takes the national positivity ratio to 10.3%, reports Geo News.

Pakistan reported over 4,000 cases last time on July 3.

Pakistan also lost 63 people to the coronavirus that continues to wreck havoc in the country. Out of that 40 died in Punjab, reports Geo News.

The total death toll due to the disease now stands at 14091.
