Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammed Aijaz Asad has called for strict adherence to the Covid-19 SOPs despite declaring Srinagar as Orange Zone to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner said this in a media briefing here on Monday. He said the district Administration is working very hard in fighting Covid-19 pandemic and people of the district have extended their cooperation due to which visible decline has been witnessed during the past few days.

The DC said ease in restrictions from today does not mean to violate Covid-19 SOPs but we have to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour with more responsibility to make entry into the Green Zone.

He said it is a minimal Unlock and as many as 96 Containment Zones shall continue to be under Corona Lockdown in Srinagar.

The DC Said any laxness on Covid SOPs means incurring heavier losses.

The DC urged the left out population of Srinagar to get vaccinated as soon as possible to break the chain of corrona virus.

With regard to opening of markets, the DC said with decline in Covid positivity rate guidelines have been issued as per the directions of the State Executive Council and people particularly all business establishments/operators must follow the same to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection.
