India records 69,239 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, total infections breach 30-lakh mark

New Delhi/IBNS: India recorded a whopping single-day jump of 69,239 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total tally to 30,44,960, the Union Health Ministry bulletin stated on Sunday.

During this period, 912 people died to due to the virus taking the Covid-19 related death toll to 56,706.

About 22,80,566 lakh people have recovered so far. The recovery rate stood at 74.89 per cent this morning.

Presently, there are about 7,07,668 active cases. 

The country of 1.3 billion people crossed the 30 lakh-mark just 15 days after it reported 20 lakh cases on Aug 7.

Even though India is ranked third as the worst-hit country worldwide after the United States and Brazil, the Asian nation has been recording the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases.
