India records 30,005 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India registered 30,005 COVID-19 cases in the psat 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health data released on Saturday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 98,26,775.  

During the same period, 442 COVID-19 deaths have been reported.

The country has so far recorded 142628 COVID-19 deaths.

So far, 9324328 people have been discharged from hospital.

The recovery rate in the country now stands at 94.89 percent. 

India remains one of the worst COVID-19 hit nations in the world.

There are 359819 active cases in the country at present.

The worldwide number of confirmed Novel Coronavirus cases has surpassed 70 million, Johns Hopkins University says.

The exact number of the coronavirus cases stood at 70,000,538 as of 21:00 GMT on Friday. 

More than 1.58 million people have died of the disease, the university added.

The World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11.

The biggest number of cases so far have been registered in the United States, India and Brazil.
